Day two…. Stayed overnight at the fancy route inn in Nanao, which is the wrong side of the peninsula, so hoofed it back to the west coast and went all the way around it.
Lots of stuff out that way….
Ganmon, cool little area with some walking around on some strange rocks, lots of mini tidal pools.

A bit further up the coast was Hatagoiwa (or is it hataguiwa?) 機具岩 (hiragana at the signpost said “go” instead of “gu” for the 2nd kanji there….)

All the campgrounds were closed. I went to Notojima (the little island bit in the east) and the big campground We-rando was closed…. I found another completely empty one, no cabins, on the coast. Many small spots to set up a tent, but I didn’t have any food with me, and it was damn cold, so decided it was best to find a hotel. In fact, I ended up at yet another Route Inn, this time choosing Wajima. Now, that isn’t close, so had to hoof it up the highway type thing to get there. But nice spot, bit more expensive than most Route Inns at 6500JPY, but nice onsen, proper stinky, discolored water-type! Great local sushi place around there as well….
